Electronic Picture Books: Stop Reinventing the Wheel
Friday, October 19, 2007 9:30 am - 10:30 am
Practitioners and parents have been duplicating each other's efforts for many years. How can we pool our resources to make literature available to early readers with disabilities? Children with physical or visual impairments need to have similar experiences as their non-disabled peers with picture books. The purpose of this session is to present best practices for creating electronic picture books that will provide independence and engagement in early reading experiences. Templates in Classroom Suite and Clicker 5 and an Internet resource for trading picture books will be shared. Participants will be invited to join a group effort to convert and share electronic picture books.
